30 days writing challenge
While I was surfing through Pinterest, I found this writing challenge. It’s just the thing I need to conquer writer’s block and improve on my consistency in writing.
I particularly love the topics in this challenge because they are relatable. Through this challenge you guys would be able to know me better. You can also join the challenge if you like.
Let’s get started with day 1
P.s I promise to only tell the truth and nothing but the truth.
Day 1: Write about where you’d like to be in 10 years time who’s in your life? What kind of Job do you have? What are your hobbies? What do you do in your free time? Where do you live?
Where would I be in the next 10 years
10 years from now, I would be 29 and I’m pretty sure that I don’t want to be in Nigeria. I really really don’t want to be here or in any African country. If there’s anything I have learnt from my 19 years of living in Nigeria, it is that Nigeria is a toxic place to grow up. Not only are they confused about their culture, the society is also controlling and everyone ( Adults especially) believes they have an opinion on how others should live their lives.
So I would like to be in a country where I have freedom of expression and also security. I haven’t decided on a particular country yet but I’m sure I would know in the next ten years. Also, I would be a recognized writer with best selling novels centered around important themes.
Who’s in your life?
I want all the people in my life right now in my life in the next 10 years. Chances are that I would make new friends. All the friends I have right now are very positive people which is why I want to keep them forever. My best friend and I have been friends for like 5 years already and it’s been great so far.
As for relationships, I want to be with the person that loves me like mad. We would probably have a kid or two or not. Whatever it is, I just want to be happy with my special somebody .
What kind of Job do you have?
I’m certain I won’t be working 9-5 in an office when I’m 29 . I would have a career in writing but I won’t be stationed in one place. I plan to become a better copywriter and also a great content writer. I might be working on scriptwriting as well. To be honest, I just want a work that I can carry with me anywhere. If trading Forex counts as a Job, then I would working as a forex trader.
What are your hobbies?
The only hobbies I would be adding to my list is landscape photography and traveling. In fact, traveling, food and wine tasting would be my lifestyle. I would continue playing basketball, doing yoga, reading good books, listening to good music and creating DIY decorations. I just love it. I might also collect items from different countries for my collection. You guys would be the first to know when I decide on what to collect.
Again, I would spend my free time with ma loff traveling. Which is why My husband or fiance or boyfriend must have a job that he can carry anywhere. I want to spend my free time sightseeing, visiting different countries, learning different cultures and meeting new people. Since I have a lot of hobbies to choose from, I’mma do them in my free time.
Where would you live?
I would prefer to live in a beach house because I love the sound of waves. I really can’t say. But I know no matter what I won’t be living at Lagos. Unless Lagos magically becomes low on noise pollution and traffic. Wherever I live, it’s definitely going to have a really big library and a basketball court.
My final thoughts on the day 1 challenge
Ten years seems so far away but it might pass by without notice. As you can see my ten years dream plan seems like a fantasy. Right now it is, but I have 10 years to make my fantasies, realities.
